I can imagine Halloween would be rather confusing for little ones. She was freaked out by all the spooky costumes, but, they were giving her lollies!

And Amelie enjoyed it too. She's so ready to walk!!

9 Months Ago...

Amelie is nine months old today. This is Anna and Amelie's first meeting. This is roughly 5 hours after she was born.

Amelie's First Swim

I bought Anna a mini blow-up pool for her birthday. But the string of beautiful weather resulted in it being an early birthday present. Amelie (sort of) enjoyed it too.

The Wedding

I have to point out here, this is Anna's comforting ritual. She sucks her thumb, plays with her ear, and is usually accompanied by her right arm slipped snuggly under her shirt with her hand coming up the neck. I love this.

Anna was eyeing off the Cupcake Wedding Cake from the second she walked in the room, and was so well behaved resisting the urge to go steal one until it was time to cut the cake. This is her triumphant seizure of the glorious cupcake (which she proceeded to only eat the icing).

October 27

Ice and Sunshine

I wanted to mark today as a reminder to myself that not all days are rough. My mum always tells me to 'bank the good days' because sometimes, when it's day after day of not much sleep and things not going so smoothly, it all seems to blend into one big mess.

 

Today has been good so far. And even though I was up 4 or 5 times last night, Millie decided to wake up at 5:30am. And I could have been really annoyed, and thrown the bag in by 6am - but I didn't. Instead, I got up, got everyone dressed and made the most of the morning. And I think the best part of this morning has been Anna settling in to school today.

 

Yesterday, she went a little crazy. Over the past few months, dropping Anna off at school has been difficult - she had been getting very distressed and yesterday was the peak of it. She screamed and kicked, and with one of her teachers trying to hold her down, her other teacher got a swift kick to the head. It was not a nice morning.

 

Today, I managed to get her there at 7:30. There were only 4 other kids, and it was quiet. She happily gave Vicky a cuddle (the Child Care manager) and got to name the new fish 'Bubbles' (I was quite proud of that actually - Vicky asked her 'What should we name our new fish?', and she suggested 'Bubbles'). She gave me a kiss and cuddle goodbye, and she was happy. And so was I.

 

I got home and got some shots of Amelie on my bed. The sunshine coming through my window this morning was gorgeous, fresh and crisp. The temperature outside is cold, ice cold. But the sun is shining. It reminds me of Amelie. Her crystal eyes, sheer white skin and placid nature remind me of sunshine on snow. I call her my Snow White.

 

This has been a good morning. I'm banking this one.

'My things'

Anna has a little obsession with her 'things'. That being, she gathers random objects from around the house and usually puts them in a bag of some sort. She has a few different bags that she loves, and she literally takes them everywhere. To school, to the shops, to the park. And apparently, to bed too.

October 25

Anna talks about Isla and Ramsey pretty much every day. On the way to school in the morning, she asks if we're on our way to see "Ramsey and Isla and Tom and Kort-NEE'.

I'm hoping that soon enough when I say 'Yes darling, we'll see them soon', that we actually will.

October 24

This is one of those time where I can't just choose one photo, because she is just too cute.

Anna was washing her pony Sally's hair, when she started deliberately pouring water directly into her eyes. Knowing that Anna has an absolute phobia of water getting into her eyes, I asked her "do you like getting water in your eyes?". She replied 'no'. So I said "well then you shouldn't do it to other people". Her response? "But Sally's not a people, she's a horsey".
Rolled by a three year old.
